Jean Marie & the Cinémathèque

It all started at 10! After having discovered his first treasure, a big poster lauding the merits of Gervais ice cream, he decided to become the Ali Baba of Advertising. The operator of Ciné Madeleine in Paris, who found this kid loveable, used to give him copies of candies' commercials as Krema sweets, Miko ice cream.. The embryo of a collection was born. He rifled the waste cans. Not just any ones! Those of film distributors of the Boulevard Longchamps who carelessly unaware, discarded trailers and advertisng films. By accumulating his "treasures", he mixed his passion for posters and advertising with that for Cinema, without imagining, at that time, turning his passion into a business.
After his college years, he emerged at Publicis in 1978. There, he discovered that, surprisingly, no one keeps the commercial spots. Neither advertisers, nor agencies nor the producers! Jean Marie Boursicot decided to create the Cinemathèque, a library of advertising films that encompasses today over 700 000 TV commercials.

When Advertising becomes a SHOW....
Now for the good news! The Night of the Adeaters has been scheduled for the 27 and 28 of February at Shaab Cinema. Why good news? Because such a glittering event is a window into the creative world. The Night of The Adeaters is, therefore an explosion of talent, inspiration and creativity. All of you people, interested in the promotion of outstanding feats are welcome to enjoy, focus and react to a selection of around 400 TV commercials from the four corners of the globe. THE NIGHT OF THE ADEATERS IS NOTHING BUT CINEMA, A STATEMENT OF OUR TIME, A COMMON LANGUAGE FOR ALL AUDIENCES. We, at The Zone, hope to make of such a viewing an adventure worthwile the effort hoping that it will be the catalyst to encourage Kuwait's creative and art superstars to join the legions of pioneers who had over the time left their mark on the advertising industry. Let's make the Night a real feast and hope that we savor every moment of the show. D'avance, Bon Appétit!!

it's a bird...it's a plane...no it's..
SuperAdman.... tonight was Beirut's turn to be rescued by our Superhero.. he has yet again hit the skies bound for another mission of making sure Adeaters all over the world are gluttonised with commercials to the point of laughter overdose...COMMERCIALS, COMMERCIALS... HOW MUCH CAN YOU EAT?.. SUPERADMAN will be visiting another 22 cities before landing in Q8... they say patience is a virtue... hmmmm well rest assured, he will be here to save you if you do...love eating commercials..Gluttony, not a sin at "THE NIGHT"! P.S an eye witness managed to capture our hero on camera as he was zooming thru the galaxy.... check him out in Bazaar Magazine starting December...

The 25th Night of the Adeaters
Besides its practicality, advertising can influence mentalities, change the image of a city or may even initiate real folklore and stimulate one to ACT responsibly. It is definitely through diversity that we learn the most valuable lessons and expand our horizons.
