Very "artsy" campaign for Peugeot 206. We just wish we can get to see just one time, one day, once only once, such creative ads for the automotive industry in Kuwait. Coz what's available is really uurghh!

Description / Synopsis

A resolutely artistic and modern campaign that enhances and modernises the car's image. It is composed of 3 ads that are fresh, light-handed and subtle. Each model is associated with a set of themes that the creative teams illustrated with a veritably artistic treatment.

Context

The Peugeot 206 has existed for 7 years and has been France’s biggest-selling car for any brand in any segment, for 4 years. This has given it outstanding brand awareness, making the 206 almost legendary. This exceptional status entitles the 206 to a certain artistic freedom. The silhouette is sufficiently well-known and recognisable to convey the advertising message on it own. The aim of this campaign was to specifically support each model within the 206 range.

Philosophy/Solution

The campaign has to be just as rich as the range of vehicles. The agency designed visuals that are in line with the particularities and character of each model, reflecting the range’s great diversity.

More car ads

Copy reads "Calculate the intensity of the impact" . This campaign for Megane cars is very much consubstantial to the Smith & Wesson one featured below ; it also resembles the wine ad above and is quite similar, in its approach, to the Animal protection campaign posted above too. What do you think? Great minds think alike! Do they?

Fun all the way

"Fun on the outside, serious underneath" reads the copy. One fresh imaginative campaign, quite old though, for Beetle cars that manages to portrait VW spirit. The focus is not on the car, rather these ads just communicate the mindtrip of VW drivers. Honestly... It kills us not to be able to see such car adverts in Kuwait where it's often an image of the car taken from a catalogue along with its price and a lot of blahblah that accompanies it, basically an essay written about the car specs with a cliché slogan. Deadly communication!!

ARTVERTISING

Here are two different campaigns ("go-playground"; "wanna play") for Suzuki/Swift cars (by Pagès BBDO-Dominican Republic) where photoshop has been ditched to welcome a very interesting drawing. Try to look deeper to fetch for the details - click on image for a larger picture; it's quite pleasurable as well as cheerful plus you get really hooked... "Wanna play in that playground?" That's the Swift spirit and it's damn good! Art in advertising is definetly taking the lead. However, these ads are very similar to Nike campaign posted on this blog down below and some others that we've seen and will get posted soon too. We love these ads but it seems that graffiti/drawing/illustration/airbrush are THE trend nowadays..Many brands are going this direction..i.e. tiida/nissan, ixus/canon, Nile fm in Egypt, eye care foundation & many more..Will try to post some...For now enjoy the EMI' s, it's BIG TIME arty. Well, right... NOTHING GREAT COMES EASY! Excellent work from TBWA/France. BRAVO les amis!
