GROOVY BEACH SPIKE

A SPIKY GROOVY 3rd Inter-Ad BEACH SPIKE Powered by French DJ KID LOCO & guests high spirit. The 3rd Inter-Ad BEACH SPIKE Volley Ball tournament for the Communication industry was hosted for the third consecutive year at Kempinski Julai’a Resort. The Communication Zone and ArabAd magazine, organized the annual and only athletic gathering for the ad agencies, on one beach to enjoy each other’s company and settle their differences on the court. There were more than 20 ad agencies registered and 16 outsiders among them some good pro players. It was one of those good memorable days: indeed, Beach Spike, with its unique and fresh twist, has proved to be a catalyst for the Communication industry, where both competitors and spectators alike made it a remarkable happening as agencies, media and their clients joined their forces for a friendly volley ball battle and where pressure is obviously released. 1400 people gathered mostly for some serious beach volleyball action. The final match of Beach Spike competition, saw Toyota-Al Sayer, one of the sponsors, winning over Circle Advertising Agency in a heated Volley Ball game setting up spikes and delivering blocks as they were battling for the title; Hudhud ad agency and Lexus Teams were semi finalists; while Four Films Printing Press took over Koki Koka- Romeo Production in a wonderfully and high level play, a fierce battle worth watching in such a beautiful setting; Hugo Boss stood 3rd. Although the athletic portion of the day was the main event, there were plenty of things to do for the guests. This day had everything anyone would want on an exotic beach getaway. This year, Paris-based DJ-producer Kid Loco stroke an instant hit on BEACH SPIKE day with his electronic mix of drum & bass tunes drawing a sonic connection, pumping up Beach Spikers’ energy with a coherent yet unexpected mix, DJ-Kicks style while Red Bull bartenders were juggling with their bottles and glasses in front of a very enthusiastic crowd. Moreover, Hady Beydoun, returned for the second time, to splash live his airbrush paint over a huge mural reflecting & summarizing the up-beat & good spirit of Beach Spike day. Kuwait Times & Al Qabas dailies, Bazaar, Layalina & ArabAd monthly magazines as well as Rainmaker Motion Pictures, Four Films Printing Press along with: Wataniya Telecom, Toyota - Al Sayer Group, Hugo Boss, Sixt rent-a-car & Concord Media for outdoor advertising were BEACH SPIKE main supporters this year. On-site samplers such as Gillette, Lancaster, Red Bull, Coca Cola, Petra juices & Abraj water also contributed to the success of Beach Spike by backing up this event. This chilled out annual gathering was a smashing success, with its action packed atmosphere powered with the teams’ high spirits and the groovy experience set by French DJ & producer Kid Loco, with a closing session by British DJ Yush on a day of informal networking & starstruck activities.
