Very well done. I have an idea for a tv spot for safe driving. In the U.S., flowers are laid down at the scene of a deadly accident. Sometimes, new flowers are laid in the spot for years. There is something profound in the dichotomy of beautful living flowers at such a deadly place.
This society has provoked one hell of an urge to get involved & be able to evolve more responsibly in this world...
..... & giving the fact that, here in Kuwait, the situation has become kind of freaky on the highways... Dangerous routes with fast cars and drunken drivers... Ironic for a country where alcohol is not permitted! Whatever!...
The sad part is, that NOT ONE public awareness campaign has been developed to tackle such a major issue.
Thus, the need to ignite some kind of awareness by getting the advertising community- if receptive of course!-, the most persuasive industry as believed to be, to ACT responsibly.
This is why ACT4Q8 will be launched soon.
However the right logo -ACT4Q8-is still missing to kick off this project.
Is there any New Yorker graphic designer that could help create a logo for a far away community where 500 people die yearly in a country of only 2 million habitants?
Dear Mahi, Y not? yeah why not a logo from New York, Zimbabwe or Honolulu??? Is it a crime??..A sin? Are we that self-centered?...
am a citizen of the world & don't give a damn about nationalities when it comes to art, talents & creativity...
This said, YES my friend, alcohol is a BIIIIIIIG issue in Q8... Donno if you live in a bubble or behind your screen...
Sure, will not tackle it this bluntly but Road Safety must be tackled!!...Whereas drug issues, that's another story...It's certainly very much linked to road accidents too.. However, it's a subject to be dealt with separately on a later stage...
& yep right, only Paragon with "Drugs drag you down" has done something in that direction...But it had NOTHING to do with safe driving... They've also done some other anti-smoking campaigns that we will be posting some time soon... inchallah...
Subsequently, you'd understand the need for an industry that has the ability to persuade and the power to publicize, to ACT and move forward by developing hard-hitting-awareness-raising campaigns. Check out how cities are motivating citizens to action by targeting specific problems and challenging behavior.
This is why the launch of extensively publicised social awareness matters- hopefully thru ACT48- is highly needed in Kuwait where the government is kind of passive & definitely lacking any plans to educate citizens about safe driving or conduct any community-centered public awareness activity. Right?
As for ACT4Q8 logo, there is no deadline; the sooner, the better to promote ACT4Q8 intiatives by kick starting the 1st competition that will be centered on SAFE DRIVING: in Kuwait for Kuwait!!
& here we go...Kuwait Times, Wednesday, April 5th: Hawally police arrested a Kuwaiti man under the influence of alcohol after seeing him drive erratically... & so on so forth...
So, dear Mahi, if you feel like submitting any logo, would be honored...It's not that the Middle East lack creativity or anything of that sort:)) It's just that don't have enough time to ask here & there; + did it spontaneously to blogger from Ogilvy & Mather NY. & again, Y NOT??
HAVE A GOOD DAY...
& A BETTER NIGHT...
